The India Premier League (IPL) has reportedly been suspended due to the increasing number of COVID cases in the bio-bubble.
This comes after SunRisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha tested COVID-positive, thus prompting the entire team to be kept in isolation.
Reports also state that two Kolkata Knight Riders players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, along with two members of the Chennai Super Kings also test positive for COVID.
According to reports, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla confirmed the development saying that the mega sporting event has not been cancelled, it has been suspended and that they are considering rescheduling it.
The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore which was scheduled to be played on Monday will now be rescheduled, while the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has been postponed.
