Mr. Anil Agarwal, the chairman of Vedanta group has confirmed that Vedanta-Foxconn will make their semiconductor plant in Gujrat. The MoU was signed in Gandhinagar in the presence of Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology to set up the semiconductor plant in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1.54 Lakh Crores and will be utilized towards making India’s Aatmanirbhar Silicon Valley a reality, Mr. Anil Agarwal said in a series of tweets. The state is well known globally as a manufacturing hub, and I hope that India’s emerging, cutting-edge electronics ecosystem thrives, with each state benefiting from the development of its electronic manufacturing hubs. We are honored to contribute to Prime Minister Modi’s goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in this industry. The project will reduce India’s electronic imports and provide 1 Lakh direct skilled jobs that will help improve the country’s manufacturing sector, he confirmed in another tweet. Foxconn is the technical partner, while Vedanta, an oil-to-metals giant, is financing the project as it seeks to diversify into chip manufacturing.
