Dubai, December 12, 2023 – At COP28, several organizations launched new coalitions focused on water sustainability.
The International Water Sustainability Coalition was announced between AquaKraft Group Ventures, Leo Burnett India, and UAE’s Quazar Investments. This coalition will unite water-conscious businesses, governments, and organizations committed to water stewardship and sustainability worldwide by 2050.
Members who join will be incentivized through AquaKredits credits on AquaKraft’s digital water bank, AqVerium. They will also receive a Water Sustainability Score developed by Leo Burnett India and AqVerium to measure their water usage.
Mr. Rajdeepak Das, Chairman of Leo Burnett South Asia, commented that the Score will bring transparency to water usage, helping companies be more responsible and giving consumers important purchasing information.
Dr. Sami Souissi, Convenor of the International Water Sustainability Coalition, said, “Be Water+ve, an AquaKraft and IIFA influencer program, has joined the coalition.” Meraki Digital, focused on climate action, also signed on. They will work on a “Blue Taxonomy” classification with Frost & Sullivan UK.
Mr. Waleed Khalid Al Ali, CEO of Quazar Investment, said it is an honour for the UAE to host the coalition and invited all stakeholders to join.
AquaKraft and Quazar will partner through AquaKraft BlueTech Solutions to address water issues in the Middle East. Dr. Subramanya Kusnur, Founder, Chairman & CEO of AquaKraft, commented on their objectives and vision.
Mr. Sameer Salgar, CFO of Quazar Investments, expressed confidence in the investment and partnership.
