His aim is to make India a value-based country and he is achieving that objective through his inspirational teaching to people. The social thinker has been working with a vision to make people positive in their life and on a mission to make values visible in people’s behaviour. He also believes that people need to inculcate human values for building a clean image.
While talking about branding and its strategies, Dr Nilay quoted the great Steve Jobs who once said, “Your product must be good. If your product is good, then everything will be taken care of. However, if the product is bad, then your product will continue to struggle whatever strategies you apply”. He said that for being good, you don’t need any kind of branding. Being good is itself a brand.
He said, “For being good in life, certain experiences must influence us. We would be incomplete when not influenced by our nearest and dearest ones. It is important to have sensitivity and a sense of composition.”
According to Dr Nilay, for being good, one should be there for someone else and should help others. Relationships constitute the most important part in our lives and it matters how people deal with relationships. “Sellers are trained to say that they are God and they are very good for the customers. Every human being has ten faces and all wear masks. Whenever we look up to them it’s always different. People act differently in different perspectives regardless of their surroundings by being good in life and in business.”
Dr Nilay suggested, “Another key point of being good in life is that one must develop one’s capacity in something one is capable of doing – which one knows one is capable of. It’s not in our capacity to chase the time, it’s not in our capacity to reproduce and produce everything within the constrained time. Do what you are capable of.”
He asked a very critical question, “Are we trying to influence the business from home or are we trying to influence the home from the business? Does our work influence our life or does our life influence our work?”
Dr Nilay said that if business influences one’s life then the business will create a sense of ego, pressure and stress, which should not be carried to one’s home. “It will lead to negativity in life and start hurting your home. Never try to influence your life by your business side,” he added.
He concluded by saying, “If you want to be good in life – either in business or in-home, develop your capacity and work on it. If you want to stay good never try to be influenced by the market and don’t try to carry those garbage to your home. Rather, take the best words of wisdom and best diamonds from your home and influence those in the market. You can only do it when you are passionate about it.”
