The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Telangana, India have joined forces in a groundbreaking exchange that is expected to benefit women entrepreneurs in both countries.
The CyberTech Women Entrepreneurs program is a business exchange for women entrepreneurs to give access and commercial paths for women-led technology enterprises in Australia and India.
The accelerator program is part of the Australia-India Bilateral Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership (AICCTP), that’s supported by the Cyber Affairs team of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Deepthi Ravula, the CEO of WE Hub said that for more than a decade startups, mainly led by women entrepreneurs in technology have been raising the issue of the lack of financial support, and technology that they require to optimally build up their firms globally.
Six women-led Indian & Australian start-ups will participate in the program, with a focus on cybersecurity and essential technologies.
The program seeks to support the launch of the above-mentioned shortlisted start-ups in the other country by providing additional soft-landing support in the respective marketplaces for three months after the program concludes.
Women entrepreneurs working in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, next-generation telecommunications, the internet of things, synthetic biology, genomics, blockchain, genetic engineering, low-emission alternative fuels, autonomous vehicles, drones, swarming and collaborative robotics, and big data have already entered.
Mr. Irfan Malik, the CEO of inQ Innovation Global said that the exchange program is crucial in developing the ongoing bilateral start-up-scale-up exchange strategy across both countries. It will also assist and deepen the start-up ecosystem for future entrepreneurs in vital technologies and cyberspace. Mr. Irfan Malik and his team have been working on DFAT since March to develop a program that offers an all-inclusive scale-up ecosystem that is critical for female-led startups.
He went on to say that his team has been collaborating with DFAT since March to create a program that offers an all-inclusive scale-up ecosystem critical for women-led tech start-ups and that he is grateful to the Telangana Government and ecosystem partners for the opportunity to curate this outcome-driven program.
