Dr. Balakrishna Shetty, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Siddhartha University-  Tumakuru, Bangalore, completed his Medical Education (MBBS/ MD) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore with Distinction in many subjects. After this he went to the USA for further studies in Radio Diagnosis. he University of Texas awarded him the prestigious Paediatric Radiology Fellowship in 1994 and he is one of the very few foreign medical graduates to receive the Fellowship in Body Imaging from Baylor College of Medicine. He is also recipient of the National Merit Scholarship and DGHS Scholarship for Higher Studies. As an eminent Radiologist, Dr. Shetty has worked in many International hospitals and universities such as Yale University, Texas Children Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Hospital, Hamad International Hospital, Doha, and Cleveland Clinic, USA. Dr. Shetty is known for developing MR PET technology for the early detection and staging of cancer without radiation. He has many scientific publications, reviwer for Interantional Journals. He is very well known for his guest lectures not only in India but also in the USA, Malaysia, and the Middle East. He is in the State Task force for Covid managment, done extensive work.
